Squadron Members Participate in Find     

On Friday, May 29th, 2015 the AFRCC opened a mission with the Kentucky Wing to find an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) located somewhere in Washington County, Kentucky. One aircrew and two Urban Direction Finding (UDF) ground teams participated in the mission. The aircrew consisted of LTC Don Morgan and Maj. MaryMajella Morgan who launched out of Lexington. UDF grounds consisted of Lt. Bill Rason and Maj. Bob Sobotka from Bowman Field (LOU) and LTC Jim Nelson and Lt. Susan Lance from Bardstown. The aircrew located the beacon and guided in the two UDF teams. 2 1/2 hours later the EPIRB was located hiding in a field of tall grass and silenced. The EPRIB was a 406 Mhz Marine EPIRB2. The EPIRB was located north of the City of Springfield.
