Squadron Member Giving O-Rides Runs Into Emergency Situation

Lt. Col. Bill Hayes had some an interesting experience during this past Saturday's cadet orientation rides held in Louisville. Per Bill, "A little excitement on my cadet O-Ride. We were north of Frankfort monitoring Indy center when a Bonanza, N2714T called MAYDAY and reported total engine failure. He was between Salem, IN and Seymour. I advised center that I was available, but there was another plane that center was working who was very close to the distressed aircraft, so he vectored him to the scene. The Bonanza made a perfect landing on I-65 and pulled off into the median. If you go to this below link, there is a story and picture of the plane in the median. Lucky pilot."
